After nearly 20 surgeries and years of therapy\, she learned to speak\, and then to sing. She picked up her first guitar at age four\, started writing songs in her childhood\, and hasn’t stopped since. Her motto says it all: Singing Because I Once Couldn’t. \n \nHer sound blends folk\, pop\, Americana\, and a little jazz\, with warm acoustic melodies and lyrics that stay with you. Her releases include You Can’t Stop Me Now and the EP A Heartbeat of Your Time\, which features the upbeat Americana track “Broken Compass” and the storytelling ballad “Pages.” Her song “Never Know\,” about choosing to see uncertainty as exciting rather than scary\, earned her a Next On Deck Road Ready promotion win from American Songwriter. DESCRIPTION:Mod Squad\nSaturday\, December 12th \n7pm to 9 pm\n\n\nMod Squad is back at Village Wines\, just in time for the holidays.\nThis trio started almost by accident. Steve Crabtree was asked to host an invite-only jam night\, and he called in two friends\, drummer Pat Coy and keyboardist John Paredes\, to be the house band. Word got out about how good that house band was.\nThe set list kept growing until it covered favorite songs from every era and every genre. These are songs you know and love but rarely hear anyone else play.\nTogether they bring decades of stage experience. Steve recently toured Italy and plays in the tribute bands Petty Thief and The Neil Youngs. Pat has played drums all over the Pacific Northwest for decades. John once counted 12 bands he played keys in. He has cut back to about 10.\nExpect sing-alongs\, toe-tapping\, and a set list that jumps decades from one song to the next. DESCRIPTION:After four years away Matt is back in the area.  We are very fortunate to have him join us for a night. \nSaturday\, December 19\, 7pm to 9pm\nVillage Wines\, Woodinville \nReservations highly recommended \n \n\nA little about Matt (from Matt) \nI bought my first guitar in 1984. I worked as a busboy at the Flap Jack Shack in Traverse City\, MI. It’s a beautiful place. Look it up if you don’t know anything about it. It’s the kind of place you don’t know how beautiful it is until you move away. \nWhen I started to play it was all hair metal and 80s pop. I  was fortunate enough to have an amazing guitar player for an uncle. He played in classic rock bands throughout northern Michigan and was a constant source of inspiration. He was considered by many to be one of the best rock guitarists in the state. If I felt like I needed some new ideas\, I spent a few hours with him in his studio. The musical gifts he shared with me are something I can never repay other than to honor the man by playing myself.  \nAfter a thrilling career as a stay at home dad\,  I decided to pursue life a a musician. Over the last few years\, I have been called a “powerful performer\,” “talented on vocals and guitar\,” and “a great vibe and technical player.” I truly believe passion and integrity are essential elements to life in music.  \nLearn more about Matt
