Izzy Burns – Live Music

Izzy was born in Moscow, Idaho, and spent the first two years of her life without a voice after an emergency tracheostomy. After nearly 20 surgeries and years of therapy, she learned to speak, and then to sing. She picked up her first guitar at age four, started writing songs in her childhood, and hasn’t stopped since. Her motto says it all: Singing Because I Once Couldn’t.

Her sound blends folk, pop, Americana, and a little jazz, with warm acoustic melodies and lyrics that stay with you. Her releases include You Can’t Stop Me Now and the EP A Heartbeat of Your Time, which features the upbeat Americana track “Broken Compass” and the storytelling ballad “Pages.” Her song “Never Know,” about choosing to see uncertainty as exciting rather than scary, earned her a Next On Deck Road Ready promotion win from American Songwriter. Songs from that EP and more are on Spotify and Apple Music if you want a preview.

Izzy splits her time between Colorado, where she studied contemporary music and played beach volleyball at Colorado Mesa University, and WesternWashington. She has toured the country with Seattle Americana duo The Hipocrats, so we’re lucky to catch her on this side of the mountains.

Bring the whole family. Kids are welcome, so come hungry and stay for the music. Our kitchen will be serving dinner, and we have wine, local beer, and non-alcoholic options for the grown-ups and the little ones.
